Dishing the Details

How does Borrowed Dish work?

When ordering any of our “Styles” online, the process is as follows: Choose your favorite style and be sure to select your party date and guest count. One of our staff will hand deliver a tote with your order typically one to two days before your gathering. After your party is finished, rinse your dishes and repack in the provided sleeves and tote. Also place the linens and candle holders in the tote as well. A pickup date will be scheduled usually a day or two after the party.

What is included in a tote?

Each tote is different and descriptions can be found under each style listed on “The Styles” page. Usually, you will find a dinner plate, salad plate, flatware, a drinking glass, charger or placemat, linens, and candleholders with candles in every tote.

Do you set the table for the party?

The price listed for each rental does not include a physical table setting service; however, we do offer that service as an add on. Within the Extras tab, you will see Set the Table options by number of place settings. Include this extra with your rental before checking out and we will take care of unpacking the totes and setting the table(s) for you.

*Note: Each rental will include specific and seamless instructions for setting the table yourself.

Can I mix and match items from different styles?

No, as we have carefully curated the various aspects of each look and they are not interchangeable. However, if you would like to order 2 different complete styles to mix and match, we can accommodate as long as both styles are available.

What if I accidentally break an item?

Accidents happen. If an item that is provided in the tote becomes damaged, please email us at [email protected] with a photo of the damaged item. We will review the damage to determine next steps. Charges for the items may occur. If replacement exceeds the incidental fee, the renter will be responsible for the amount in excess of the incidental fee.

Payments

What payment options do you offer?

We accept all major credit cards.

When will I be charged?

Your credit card will be charged immediately upon placing your order.

Delivery and Pickup

What is your delivery area?

Our delivery area includes Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Oconee, Pickens, Laurens and Cherokee Counties in Upstate South Carolina. If your county is not listed contact us at admin@borroweddish.comย or call/text (864) 531-0110 to see if we can accommodate.

What happens if I return my rental late?

If your tote is not available for pick-up on the date confirmed, you will be charged a $75 fee each day you are late.

For special orders and/or Event Extras, the renter agrees to pay a late fee specified in the Rental Agreement.

What is your delivery fee?

Depending location within our delivery area and delivery date, the fee ranges from $35-$150.

Clean Up

Do I need to clean the dishes after the party?

Due to nature of our vintage tableware, no, you do not have to wash your dishes. If receiving a tote, lightly rinse off any remaining food and drink and place them back in the sleeves they arrived in, and then place the sleeves back in the tote for pickup.

Are your items food and beverage safe?

Yes, all tableware is meant for serving food and beverage.

Can I place items in the dishwasher or microwave?

Much of our dinnerware is vintage and each piece requires different cleaning methods. Please do not place any items in the dishwasher or microwave.

Cancellations

What is your cancellation policy?

For orders placed directly online, if you cancel 14 or more days in advance of the delivery date, there will be no cancellation fee and you will receive a refund for the order. If you cancel 8-13 days in advance of the delivery date, you will receive a Borrowed Dish credit for the amount of your order towards any future rental to be used within 1 year of the original event date. No refunds will be issued 7 or fewer days in advance of the delivery date. Can I modify my order?

Private/Corporate Events

Can you accommodate private or corporate events?
